Best time to visit Pench

Pench National Park is situated at the border of Madhya Pradesh on one side and on the other side it is in Maharashtra. The Pench National Park is very famous for the abundance of flora and fauna found within the park as the different species of wildlife. Pench National Park calls from the name of the river that flows nearby, Pench was declared a Wildlife Sanctuary in 1983 and in 1992, Pench was included as a part of "Project Tiger" as the 19th Project Tiger Reserve. All forest of central India is deciduous forest. This park is spread over 758 sq.kms of tropical moist deciduous forest; Pench is one of the most accessible tiger reserves in the country, and just 90 kilometres north of Nagpur and Khwasa. It is located on the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh, bordering Maharashtra, in the districts of Seoni and Chhindwara. Pench National Park, comprising of 758 SQ Kms, out of which a core area of 299 sq km of Indira Priyadarshini Pench National Park and the Mowgli Pench Sanctuary and remaining 464 sq km of Pench national park is the buffer area. The Reserve is located in the southern part of the Satpura hill range in the Seoni and Chhindwara districts in Madhya Pradesh. The terrain is undulating, with most of the area covered by small hills and mounds.

Best time to visit
Pench National Park like all the other parks of Madhya Pradesh remains open for visitors from the month of October till the month of June. If you wish to visit in the month of October, you get the treat of watching and enjoying nature at its best, since post monsoon, the park becomes more beautiful and dense with lush greenery. It is the choice of majority of visitors to visit in this period due to good climatic condition, holidays, festival season etc. But still best time to visit this national park could be different for different visitor as it depends upon the mind-set with which he/she is visiting the park. As visitors come with interest of wildlife photography, tiger photography, enjoy the lush green jungle, to do bird-watching or just to cover a wildlife destination. If you want to catch sight of tigers and other wildlife, plan your visit to the park during the summer months, as this is the time the animals come out in search of waterholes. Winters month’s maybe may more comfortable, but it is very difficult to view much wildlife during this season. The Pench National Park is open to visitors from early November to end June each year and closed during the rainy season (July- October). The Park is open to all visitors from 6 in the morning till 6 in the evening.
Summer (March - June): Summers of Pench are extremely hot and exhausting. The temperature ranges from 21 to 40 degrees Celsius. Summer has its own charm of visiting the park. Although summers are quite hot in Central India, but for wild lifers and especially people who come for tiger sighting, it is an amazing time to visit since tiger sighting becomes frequent at this time. Tigers, various birds and lots of other animals visit the ponds and small pools to drink water and to rest near ponds and are usually sighted there. All in all, Pench is a delight to visit irrespective of seasons.
Monsoon (July - September): Pench receives moderate to heavy rainfall. The rains bring newness and rejuvenating greenery to the place. The natural beauty of the place is at its peak. River Pench is also fill with water with all the dohs and Nallas.
Winter (October - March): the climate is pleasantly cool and the temperature ranges from 11 to 31 degrees Celsius. Winters are the best season to be here. Because due to pleasant weather it is easy to visit in daylight and one can explore the jungle in easy way. Pench National Park is best to visit in winter season.
